Satan is actually granting people’s wishes, as Adult Swim has officially announced the return of its hit live-action series, ‘Your Pretty Face Is Going To Hell.’ Cartoon Network’s late night programming block revealed that the second season of the show would debut this past Sunday, June 12, during its panel at San Diego Comic-Con two days earlier. To celebrate the series’ follow-up season’s broadcast premiere, Adult Swim distributed the show’s six-episode 2013 initial season on DVD today. Shockya is also honoring the second’s season release with a new exclusive clip, titled ‘Virgins in Hell.’
Set in the depths of the torturous title location of the afterlife, ‘Your Pretty Face Is Going to Hell’ is a satire on corporate culture. The series is written and directed by its co-creators, Dave Willis and Casper Kelly, who previously worked together on episodes of the animated comedy series ‘Aqua Teen Hunger Force’ and ‘Squidbillies.’ During its first season, ‘Your Pretty Face Is Going To Hell’ ranked No. 1 among young adults and men, and beat its direct competition on other cable networks, including Comedy Central, Spike, Nick-at-Nite, MTV and FX.
Adult Swim has released the following synopsis for ‘Your Pretty Face Is Going To Hell’:
Matt Servitto (‘Banshee,’ ‘The Sopranos’), Henry Zebrowski (‘The Wolf Of Wall Street’) and Craig Rowin (‘Night Of Too Many Stars,’ ‘@Midnight’) star in the workplace comedy that follows Gary (Zebrowski), an associate demon, as he attempts to capture souls on Earth in order to climb the corporate ladder of the underworld. Gary is too stupid, lazy and kind-hearted to do his job well and is frequently stabbed in the back by his devious co-worker, Claude (Rowin). Plus, his boss Satan (Servitto) is immortal, which means that management positions are unlikely to become available soon. In Season 2, as Gary learns how to appear on people’s shoulders to tempt them, we meet our first angel, and we find the answer to the question if there are women in hell. (Answer: yes.)
