Emotionally exploring the extreme depths people will go to preserve their life and regain their freedom often creates the most gripping and memorable biopics. That’s certainly the case for the new crime-driven film, ‘A Prayer Before Dawn,’ which is based on the true story of real-life boxer, Billy Moore.

In honor of the movie’s official distribution, its second official trailer, which chronicles Moore’s fight for survival, has been unveiled. ‘A Prayer Before Dawn’ is now available exclusively on DIRECTV, and is also set to be released in theaters on August 10 by A24.

The action drama was directed by Jean-Stéphane Sauvaire (‘Johnny Mad Dog’). It stars up-and-coming British actor, Joe Cole, in a breakthrough role as Moore, who, as a young English boxer, was incarcerated in Thailand’s most notorious prisons. Cole endured intense physical training to fully immerse himself into the realities of Thai prison fighting. ‘A Prayer Before Dawn’ was shot in an actual Thai prison with a cast of primarily real inmates.

‘A Prayer Before Dawn’ follows Billy when he was working a young English boxer, and subsequently finds himself incarcerated in two of Thailand’s most notorious prisons. He is quickly thrown into a terrifying world of drugs and gang violence. But when the prison authorities allow him to take part in the Muay Thai boxing tournaments, he realizes this might be his chance to get out. Billy embarks on a relentless, action-packed journey from one savage fight to the next, and stops at nothing to preserve his life and regain his freedom.
