Warner Bros. Pictures is moving forward with developing a big screen adaptation of “Spy Hunter”, the Midway Games’ video game. Dan Lin (“Sherlock Holmes”) and Roy Lee of Vertigo are producing the project. Chad St. John is set to write the film’s script. “Spy Hunter” is about a highly-trained government agent who traverses the globe, hunting down rogue spies who are now a threat to the government they used to work for and protect. According to a report by Heat Vision, Joel Silver and Akiva Goldsman are producing a big-screen adaptation of “Sgt. Rock”, the WW2 comic book from DC Comics. Francis Lawrence (“I Am Legend”, “Constantine”) is directing the project, based on a script by Chad St. John (“The Days Before”). Andrew Rona of Silver Pictures is also onboard as a producer, and Kerry Foster is the project’s executive producer. According to a report by Variety.com, Warner Bros. and Hollywood Gang Productions have tapped Michael Davis (“Shoot ‘Em Up”) to direct a remake of the 1981 sci-fi Sean Connery film “Outland.” Chad St. John will pen the film, which Gianni Nunnari of Hollywood Gang is producing. Craig J. Flores is on board as an executive producer. The film follows a law enforcement marshal stationed in space on Io, one of Jupiter’s moons.
