Back in December a rumor cropped up that Josh Brolin could be the man to fill Tommy Lee Jones’ shoes in the newest installment of Men in Black. While that has still yet to be confirmed, Columbia Pictures is reportedly plugging along and seeking options for another character, Yaz. According to Bloody Disgusting, the two men up for that role are Sacha Baron Cohen and Jemaine Clement (Flight of the Conchords).

Okay, great; but who is Yaz? Your guess is as good as mine, but I’m leaning towards some sort of alien. Both Baron Cohen and Clement seem to be guys who can pull off the whole ET thing ala Johnny Knoxville. Plus, if these actors were vying for an agent role, wouldn’t they be referred to as Agent plus some letter?

Details of Etan Cohen’s script are still sketchy but there’s a rumor floating around that Brolin’s character would be Agent K’s (Lee Jones) successor. Some also say the film could involve Agent J (Will Smith) doing some time traveling and bumping into a younger version of Agent K who’d be played by Brolin. But, of course, this is all unconfirmed gossip as is the tidbit about Baron Cohen and Clement. Hopefully the studio will send some official information our way soon.
