Sophia Bush, Bethany Joy Galeotti and Austin Nichols are the latest cast members to sign on for a ninth season of ‘One Tree Hill,’ TVGuide is reporting. The news, which was confirmed by a CW rep, comes even though the fan favorite drama has yet to be renewed for another season.
The three actors join fellow series stars Robert Buckley, Jana Kramer and Lisa Goldstein, who have all already signed on for another season. The new contracts do make it more of a possibility for the CW to renew ‘One Tree Hill.’
Of the news, Bush tweeted ‘Well faithful followers, I am officially in for one last year of OTH. The writers have great plans! Now all we need is a CW pick up!”
While Bush, Galeotti and James Lafferty are the three remaining original cast members, he is expected to only return part-time if ‘One Tree Hill’ is picked up again. Lafferty told TVGuide that he can’t stay forever. “It’s like leaving your parents’ house. It’s got to happen at some point, you’ve got to graduate.”
