Singer Beyonce Knowles was awarded the Billboard Millennium Award at tonight’s big event. The wife of rapper Jay-Z was presented the award on stage by her mother, Tina Knowles, honoring her for her career accomplishments in the music industry over the years. The talented star, who over the years has also delved into the fashion world and the acting biz, also performed her single Run the World (Girls)!
Overwhelmed and exhilarated, Beyonce shared her happiness with a full room of top celebrities, all in attendance for the awards event that has managed to make a come back after a five year absence. The last show took place in 2006.
“This is a moment I have to soak in because it’s gonna be – and it is – one of the best moments of my life,” Beyonce stated.
The twenty-nine year old star was also honored with footage, taking fans back over the years as the video highlighted the Destiny Child performer’s contributions to the music world. The Billboard Music Awards aired on ABC, and took place in Las Vegas with host, funnyman Ken Jeong of The Hangover fame!
