This episode of “All-Stars” was mighty interesting, probably the most interesting challenge yet. This week, the designers had to design a dress for one of the most famous fashionistas ever, Miss Piggy! Yes, they had to design for a Muppet! Miss Piggy needed a dress to wear in order to promote her film, “The Muppets,” after all.

Even though it’s part of our culture now to recognize the Muppets almost like real people, it was a little bit jarring to hear the contestants speak of her as a real person. Not like it’s impossible, though–like I said, it’s practically part of our culture to recognize the Muppets as thinking, autonomous beings.

Anyway, the winner of the runway was Michael Costello! His dress, a short, jewel-toned cocktail dress with bow-like loop accents, was sophisticated for a human body while looking like something Miss Piggy would wear. The runner-up was Rami, whose polka-dot, bright and fun dress was effervescent, but possibly too much like something in Miss Piggy’s closet. The designer going home was Gordana, whose pink dress looked a little too much like bedclothes–very fashiony bedclothes, sure, but bedclothes nonetheless.

What did you think of this episode? Did you like the idea of the designers making clothes for a pig puppet? Give your opinions below.
