Tom Cruise has been Mr. Science Fiction Action star for sometime after the release “Oblivion” last year. “Edge of Tomorrow” appears to keep the trend alive and well, as Tom Cruise dies again and again in this strange alien war movie with hints of “Groundhog’s Day.” Warner Bros released a bunch of new video featurettes that showcase the science fiction movie’s action.

“In the near future, an alien race has invaded the Earth and has defeated the world’s military units. Major William Cage (Tom Cruise), a military officer inexperienced in combat, is deployed into a combat mission against the aliens. Though Cage is killed in minutes, he finds himself starting over in a time loop, repeating the same combat mission and being killed. Each time, Cage learns to better fight the aliens, and he teams up with Special Forces warrior Rita Vrataski (Emily Blunt) to defeat them.”

Screenwriters Joby Harold, Steve Kloves, Christopher McQuarrie, Tim Kring, Jez Butterworth, Alex Kurtzman & Roberto Orci all had a hand in adapting “All You Need Is Kill” for the big screen, while Doug Liman is the director. In addition to Cruise and Blunt, the movie also features Lara Pulver, Marianne Jean-Baptiste, Jeremy Piven, Bill Paxton, Charlotte Riley, and Jonas Armstrong.

“Edge of Tomorrow” will hit theaters everywhere on June 6, 2014.
