Album: Teknofonic Essentials Vol. 1

Production: Teknofonic Recordings (label)

Effortlessly being able to encourage the public to change their views on seemingly radical ideas, and undoubtedly embrace new opinions and ways of life, is a characteristic that not everyone naturally possesses. But those people who do have that gripping ability are able to reach diverse audiences, and revolutionize their thoughts and actions. Adam Reifsteck, a producer who’s also known as Sonic Fear, is one such intriguing musician. After launching his new New York City-based EDM label, Teknofonic Recordings, less than a year ago, the composer has proven that emerging talent can craft the most forward-thinking and genre-defying sounds that fall outside the mainstream. By recently releasing the compilation album, ‘Teknofonic Essentials Vol. 1,’ which chronicles the record label’s first year in electronic music, the producer is reforming how genre-bending artists are uniting and engaging adventurous listeners.

With a wide and alluring range of electronica, dubstep, house and trance influences throughout ‘Teknofonic Essentials Vol. 1’s 20 tracks, there several distinct songs that truly and grippingly connect with listeners. Teknofonic Recordings’ founder powerfully launches the album with his track, ‘I’ll Be Your World,’ which features Veela’s soothing vocals. Beginning with a classic and ballad style piano introduction, the haunting song launches into a chilling and electronic-infused instruments. The emotionally layered vocals and instruments also stunningly features an experimental mix of minimal dubstep and progressive house sounds, which grippingly highlights the entry’s theme, which focuses on the struggles of maintaining a romantic relationship.

The compilation record then delves into the equally stunning, but more up-tempo, entry, ‘Novacaine,’ from Northampton-based musician, Daniel Monroe. Combining elements of indie rock, pop, electro house and dubstep, the musician demonstrates his equally versatile and commanding presence as a producer. As the song begins with a alluring electronic guitar introduction that effortlessly flows into a throbbing bass, buzzing synths and pounding drums, Monroe features an exceptional experimental rhythm and beat that effortlessly drives his listeners to dance.

‘Teknofonic Essentials Vol. 1’ follows the entralling ‘Novacaine’ with the equally progressive trance track, ‘Below the Surface,’ from artist Jim Roditis, who’s known by his stage name, Upper Regions. The song features soothing house and electronic-infused instrumental undertones, particularly through its heavily percussive beats. Upper Region, who features a euphoric and deep fluid sound on the entry, intriguing draws inspiration from the underground techno scene, as well as tribal electronic, funk house, tech house and deep house. The musician illicits a stunning emotional response by mixing elements of different genres, while also emphasizing original sound design.

The electronica-infused compliation record later ends with the equally modern and classical song, ‘The End,’ by German DJ and producer, Addliss. The most captivating and memorable progressive track on the album features uplifting melodies. The uplifting and euphoric trance anthem will also surely resonate with listeners, particularly through his artful melodies and lush harmonies.
