Singer Pete Doherty was denied entry into the U.S. on June 10, Spinner.com is reporting.  When the leader of the group the Libertines arrived at John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York City, he wasn’t allowed past the gate.

Police met Doherty, and ordered him to travel back to the U.K., according to BrooklynVegan.  No reason was given on why they ordered him back on the plane, but it’s rumored that his heavy drug use and/or issues with his visa may be reasons.

As a result, Doherty, who has made headlines for his on-again, off-again relationship with model Kate Moss, missed a show with Sean Lennon.  The Libertines singer was scheduled to perform at the Corduroy magazine launch party.  Fellow musicians Adam Green, BP Fallon and Irina Lazareanu, who was also celebrating her birthday and who has dated both Doherty and Lennon, were also scheduled to perform.
