Seann William Scott has voluntarily checked into a rehab treatment facility for “health and personal issues,” his agent has confirmed. However, no details of why the 34-year-old actor, who is most remembered for his portrayal of Stifler in the original ‘American Pie’ trilogy, checked into the facility, www.tmz.com is reporting.
A spokesman for Scott, who has also appeared in such movies as ‘Dude, Where’s My Car?’ and ‘Role Models,’ told People that the actor wants to be proactive in his treatment. He also appreciates his fans’ support of his decision.
The news comes after Scott admitted while he was promoting ‘Cop Out’ last winter that he was optimistic about reprising the role that helped make him famous in a fourth theatrical ‘American Pie’ movie. While there hasn’t been any official word yet if Universal has green-lit the third sequel, Jon Hurwitz is rumored to be writing the script.
