It has been long rumored that Quentin Tarantino has been writing a new screenplay, supposedly a Western. There were other rumored based on interviews with potential cast members, citing the name of the new project was entitled “A Southern”. Well, it seems like those rumors are now debunked as the online film world goes into a frenzy over one single tweet.
@AgentTrainee tweeted a photo of the screenplay itself (or at least the title page) with the word “Jealous?” before it. “Django Unchained” appears to be the title of the new Quentin Tarantino project.
Could this be a re-telling of the classic Sergio Corbucci film? A film that started a craze and film movement in Italy known as the Italian Western. Since the debut of the “Django” in 1966, there has been countless movies based on the character due to the lacks copyright laws in Italy. Many of the available on Netflix via Watch Instantly.
We already know that Frano Nero, who played the original Django, has been in talks with Tarantino to play a role in his new film along with Christoph Waltz. Please keep in mind, the title has yet to be confirmed by any studio or Tarantino himself. So I guess the next thing to do is compare Tarantino’s handwriting to this photo.
