Bobbi Kristina Brown and Nick Gordon were both listening to the same Whitney Houston song, ‘I Look To You,’ when they were both involved in separate car incidents on the same day, Celebuzz is reporting. Houston’s song “came on the radio and Nick said he just went into panic mode and his foot just went down on the accelerator,” Gordon’s grandmother, Maxine Gordon, said.
The 23-year-old Gordon was arrested for reckless driving and speeding, after being clocked at driving at 82 mph in a 35 mph residential zone on the Northpoint Parkway on Wednesday night. But his grandmother insisted that he “wasn’t driving reckless.”
Brown was also listening to ‘I Look To You’ before she was cited by police in a suburb of Atlanta after her car veered off the road. Her car went down an embankment and hit a few trees before finally coming to a stop. The star of ‘The Houstons: On Our Own’ was uninjured in the crash, however. A Good Samaritan called 911 when they spotted Brown standing in the embankment next to her crashed Chevrolet Camaro near her Georgia home that she shares with Gordon. She later tweeted that her “personal guardian angel” was looking over her during the crash.
Brown and Gordon reportedly broke up before their respective crashes. While the couple never officially confirmed their engagement, a set of tweets from the two insinuated that the relationship is over. Maxine said they’re both going to seek help. She added that she believes the controversial couple are still trying to come to terms with Houston’s unexpected death in February.
“They’re still emotional and both really miss Whitney and love her very much,” Maxine said. “Sometimes you need to hit a cement wall (in life). I mean, he could have killed somebody. Nick is a kind person, but he’s lost and so is Bobbi Kristina.” She added that when Houston was alive, Brown and Gordon “were good for each other. But now they’re not…He felt that love for her and she leaned on him for comfort.”
