Clint Eastwood’s daughter, actress Alison Eastwood, has gotten engaged to her long-time boyfriend, ‘Chainsaw Gang’ star Stacy Poitras, Celebuzz is reporting. The director and reality star have been together for five years, and have decided to marry after being secretly engaged for three years.
“I feel like I am the luckiest guy in the world because Alison is truly an angel, we are both very happy,” Poitras told Celebuzz. He asked the four-time Academy Award-winning director and actor for permission to marry his daughter, who he had with his ex, swimsuit model Maggie Johnson.
Poitras added that “I actually asked for his permission three years ago at a Thanksgiving dinner in Pebble Beach that was attended by Alison’s mom Maggie too.” He added that after the meal, he quietly asked Eastwood when they were alone “if it would be alright if I asked for his daughter’s hand in marriage.”
Eastwood “cooly looked me in the eye and softly said, ‘You better take that up with her,’ to which I replied, ‘So, I have your permission?’ and he said ‘Yes.’”
ALison has kept her relationship with Poitras private, despite her ties to Hollywood. Her fiancé even wants to keep the details about their proposal secret. He said, “I am a very private person, so I don’t want to reveal how I actually proposed to Alison—but I was delighted when she said ‘Yes.’”
But Poitras did reveal that he gave Alison a green emerald stone with two diamonds. They haven’t set a wedding date yet, but he said it will be an outdoor occasion, to keep the couple’s love of nature. The couple’s three dogs, two cats, two rabbits and three horses will also be in attendance at the ceremony.
Eastwood has also agreed to walk his daughter down the aisle. Poitras said he spoke to Eastwood “a couple of weeks ago over Thanksgiving and he was very happy for us both. And, naturally, he will be at our wedding to give his daughter away.”
Poitras added that he’s “not really a very religious person, but we intend to have a traditional bare bones style wedding full of family and friends which will be a real celebration.” He also said that he and Alison “already refer to each other as husband and wife, because we feel we have such a strong spiritual bond between us and we want to celebrate that at our wedding.”
The couple met five years ago at The Grill bar in Agoura Hills, California, where Poitras previously had an art studio. The two can currently been seen on ‘Chainsaw Gsng,’ which airs on Saturdays at 10pm.
