Mariah Carey and Elizabeth Arden have announced the singer’s new feminine fragrance, Mariah Carey Dreams, which will be sold exclusively at Kohl’s. The fragrance, which is now available online and which will hit shelves on April 23, celebrates the many stages of the ‘American Idol’ judge’s life. The scent blends floral and gourmand notes that are symbolic of Carey’s life journey.
At the top of Mariah Carey Dreams is salted caramel apple and star anise, which are combined with bergamot and toasted almonds. In the middle is a sensual hint of honeysuckle, which is intertwined with alluring freesia and a delicate undertone of lily of the valley. At the base is a blend of warm patchouli, Tonka bean and Madagascar vanilla grounds the scent.
“The process of developing a fragrance is exhilarating and it takes me to another place within my creative self, which is why I enjoyed creating Mariah Carey Dreams,” the singer said. “I humbly call myself a ‘perfumer in training’ because I love it so much – almost as much as I love making music. I have the utmost respect for the perfumers because they have the ability to combine a few simple scents into a classic and exciting fragrance.”
The bottle Mariah Carey Dreams comes in is designed to mirror the curves of a champagne flute, and is a tribute to the singer’s festive nature. The butterflies entwined around the flute hold a special meaning for Carey, representing what matters most to her. The 1.7 oz bottle of the fragrance is being sold for $49, while the 1.0 oz bottle is being sold for $39.
