With the release of “New Year’s Eve,” one might start wondering what other New Year’s movies there are in order to celebrate the figurative birth of Baby New Year. It would seem like we’re coming to an end of the Brett Ratner-gate situation, and it’s what I personally thought would happen. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Billy Crystal is going to host The 84th Academy Awards. Crystal tweeted the news, stating, “Am doing the Oscars so the young woman in the pharmacy will stop asking my name when I pick up my prescriptions. Looking forward to the show.” It is easy to get him to replace Eddie Murphy, who left the show in a pickle when he left his spot as host after Ratner left as producer, because Crystal, according to the article, has hosted the Oscars nine times….

At this point in time we as an audience are used to seeing sequels being spit out into cinemas left and right. If a movie has some form of story that can be continued through several other films, a franchise is born. Who can blame them? If they end up with a franchise it could mean loads of cash in their pockets. Blumhouse Productions and Twentieth Century-Fox Film Corporation just released another international movie poster featuring The Rock for the upcoming comedy “Tooth Fairy” by director Michael Lembeck (The Santa Clause 2) and starring Dwayne Johnson (Planet 51, Get Smart), Ashley Judd (Crossing Over, Bug), Julie Andrews (Shrek the Third, Mary Poppins) and Billy Crystal. Synopsis: Tess is a 6-years-old girl who is very dissapointed when Derek (Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson) tells her that the tooth fairy isn’t real. Derek is left to try and save the tooth fairy kingdom.
