Mark Ruffalo is the latest actor expressing his distaste for the Proposition-8 bill in California, FOXNews.com reported on July 2. Appearing in the new movie ‘The Kids Are Alright,’ which focuses on a married lesbian couple, played by Annette Benning and Julianne Moore, who have two teenage children, Ruffalo said the arguments against gay marriage is “so ridiculous” to him.
The actor also said he’s confident that the opposition to same-sex couples getting married in California is almost over. He said he feels Prop-8 is “…the last dying, kicking, screaming, caged animal response to a world that is changing, a world that’s leaving a lot of those old, bigoted, un-accepting views behind. It’s over.”
Ruffalo also pointed to the ABC News-Washington Post poll that was taken in February, which shows that 75 percent of Americans want an appeal on ‘Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell. That percent supports having openly gay people serve in the military. “The more people get to experience ‘these people’ (gay and lesbian couples) who are not so much unlike themselves, the more accepting they become,” he also said.
