Hugh Jackman, who is known around the world for starring in such acting films as ‘X-Men Origins: Wolverine,’ was injured while performing a stunt on ‘The Oprah Winfrey Show,’ Reuters UK is reporting. The 42-year-old actor was trying to make a grand entrance onto the set while the talk-show host was filming in his native Australia when he was minorly injured.
Jackman was sliding down the Sydney Opera House on a cable when he failed to hit the brakes on time. Blaming the excitement of the stunt, he failed to stop and hit the lighting rig. “That was so much fun, until the end,” the actor told Winfrey.
“I came down waving to everyoe, looking over Sydney Harbour…(I) went to pull the brake and then boing,” Jackman also told Winfrey. A local Australian news broadcast said he only suffered a slight cut to his eye. The broadcast also said the talk-show queen remained calm during the incident.
