New video from Entertainment Tonight shows some behind-the-scenes footage of the next Sherlock Holmes movie.
The footage shows that another one of Holmes’ tactics for solving mysteries–going out in disguise–will be a part of the storyline. The footage shows Robert Downey Jr., who plays Holmes, dressed as an old woman, something Holmes did in one of the many stories written by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. The footage also shows the first glimpse of Noomi Rapace as a Roma character named Sim.
It wouldn’t be a Sherlock Holmes movie if there wasn’t some level of discussion about Holmes and his flatmate/assistant Dr. John Watson, played by Jude Law. From the answer to the question about the characters’ codependency on each other, it would appear that the level of bromance will be just as high in this sequel as it was in the first film.
The currently untitled sequel finds us back with Holmes and his “Boswell” Watson as they go on the hunt for Holmes’ arch-nemesis, Professor Moriarty. The film, directed by Guy Ritchie and also starring Jared Harris as Moriarty, Stephen Fry as Holmes’ brother Mycroft, and Kelly Reilly as Watson’s long-suffering wife Mary Morstan, will be released December 16, 2011.
