Screencrave has some pictures of Jude Law during the San Francisco filming of “Contagion”, a film about an international team of doctors dealing with controlling and defeating a dangerous outbreak of a deadly disease. These pictures show Law in character as Alan Krumwiede. He’s in a fully protective Hazmat-like suit. Quiet Earth (via Just Jared and Laughing Squid) also has set pictures, showing a ravaged cityscape.
Having written several articles on the upcoming “Sherlock Holmes” sequel, all this blogger can see is Jude Law as John Watson instead of Jude Law as Alan Krumwiede, especially due to the cropped hairstyle he’s sporting, which is the exact one he has in the “Sherlock Holmes” films. This isn’t a knock against Jude Law or any of his characters; it’s just a dorky observation. However, this might make some “Sherlock Holmes” fans more eager to see this film.
The cityscape pictures are pretty intense, and one of them, which has the picture of what I’m assuming is a prominent politician character in the film, shows that this is not only going to be an action-adventure film, but a realistically-rendered one. In fact, they all give a very sombre, creepy, and despairing vibe, especially pictures that shows the photo of man, with dedications surrounding it, taped to a phone line post and clothes strewn across the street.
“Contagion” is being directed by Steven Soderbergh and is being labeled as an ensemble cast; it stars Gwyneth Paltrow, Matt Damon, Kate Winslet, Marion Cotillard, Lawrence Fishburne, Bryan Cranston, Sanaa Latham, Elliot Gould and Demetri Martin (?!), just to name a few.
The film is expected to released to theaters October 21, 2011.
