Jennifer Aniston was supposedly so inspired by Gwyneth Paltrow’s performance in ‘Country Strong’ that she now wants to play a country music star as well, www.popeater.com is reporting. The former ‘Friends’ star wants to portray a member of the 1940′s Texas group The Goree Girls, USA Today is alleging.
The movie will follow real events of eight female inmates who formed a country band in Goree Prison. The women were so embraced and loved by the public that they were eventually released from the prison.
Aniston is also reportedly on board to co-produce the project, which has been in development since at least 2007. Kelly Rowland and Ellen Pompeo have also reportedly been asked to appear in the film recently. Aniston appears to want to move away from the romantic comedy genre, as her recent films have failed to find success at the box office or with critics.
