TMZ is reporting that Steve-O boycotted a charity event for the American Diabetes Association after learning what the group was serving for the event.

According to the article, Steve-O was set to participate in the Celebrity Go Kart Tournament in Gardena, California this weekend, but once he learned about the menu items, he decided the event wasn’t the one for him, in so many words.

As he left, he told charity event worker from the Children’s Hospital that “I came here because I thought this was promoting a plant-based diet as diabetes prevention and they’re serving MEAT there. I’m so outta here.” He also said after asking some kids if they wanted to take his place in the race that “[i]t’s kind of an outrage to me…it’s stupid.” He also said, “It’s like serving alcohol at an AA meeting.” You can check out the video below.

Coincidentally, Steve-O’s outrage over the menu at the charity event is very similar to the mission statement of “Forks Over Knives”, a documentary who’s goal is to, according to its press release, “[examine] the profound claim that most, if not all, of the degenerative diseases that afflict us can be controlled, or even reversed, by rejecting our present menu of animal-based and processed foods.” If you’re interested in checking out the film, it opens this Friday in several locations; to find where it’s opening near you, check out the official website and Facebook pages.
