Comedy Central has decided to up the ante on Charlie Sheen’s rants and ravings about Hollywood by roasting the actor in a special. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the actor will be roasted for the Comedy Central special on September 10, and the special will air on September 19 at 10 p.m. EST, the same day Ashton Kutcher will take over the reigns of Sheen’s old spot on “Two and a Half Men.”
“You could say I’ve been providing kindling for this roast for a while,” Sheen said in a statement. “It’s time to light it up. It’s going to be epic.”
As far as Sheen’s statements of late have been going, this one is surprisingly lucid and shows that he might realize his behavior has been rather unusual.
No word yet on who will be the guest stars rangled up to make fun of the star, but I’m fairly sure Lisa Lampanelli will be among the usuals that attend. I will say that even though the late comedian Greg Giraldo’s presence was greatly missed at the roast of Donald Trump, this roast of Sheen would have been one where Giraldo could’ve been amazing in.
