Richard A. Franco, an unemployed 27 year-old community college student, was arrested during the night of July 11, 2011 for allegedly stalking Halle Berry, TMZ is reporting. The Los Angeles Police Department is saying the Academy Award-winning actress’ security cameras filmed Franco jumping the concrete wall outside her Hollywood Hills home around 11 PM.

Franco was immediately confronted by security guards on the grounds. He didn’t resist, and cooperated fully with the guards. They called the LAPD, who arrested him on suspicion of felony stalking.

Franco reportedly stalked Berry the entire weekend before the guards were able to apprehend him. She spotted him in her backyard on July 9 and 10, which prompted a search for the suspect.

It’s unknown if Berry’s three-year-old daughter Nahla was home during the incident, but the actress was on the grounds the entire weekend. She was home considering which film role to accept as her next project. She’s currently being considered to portray Aretha Franklin in a new biopic. The Queen of Soul, who will have the final pick over who portrays her in the film, reportedly is supporting Berry.

The arrest comes after Berry received a restraining order in 2004 against Greg Broussard, a Louisiana man who allegedly stalked her. He was unable to be within 100 feet of the actress, her manager or publicist after he continuously called and faxed her.
