Brad Pitt is retracting recent statements he made about his ex-wife Jennifer Aniston to Parade magazine, according to The Hollywood Reporter. In the interview, the ‘Moneyball’ actor said he became sick of sitting on a couch, hiding from the celebrity lifestyle. He added that he was intent on finding a movie with an interesting character, as he wasn’t living an interesting life himself.
“I think that my marriage (to Aniston) had something to do with it. Trying to pretend the marriage was something that it wasn’t,” Pitt also said. Of the statements, Pitt received media attention as soon as they were posted on Parade’s website. Soon after, his reps issued a statement to The Hollywood Reporter, to clarify what he said.
“It grieves me that this was interpreted this way,” Pitt said in the statement. “(Jen) is an incredibly giving, loving and hilarious woman who remains my friend. It is an important relationship I value greatly. The point I was trying to make is not that (Jen) was dull, but that I was becoming dull to myself.”
After the statements were released, Aniston said Pitt was missing “a sensitivity chip.” The remarks come after the actor largely remained silent about Aniston and their marriage since they divorced in 2005.
