Steven Hirsch, the president of adult production company Vivid Entertainment, believes more pornography stars should follow in the footsteps of Sasha Grey and read to children, TMZ is reporting. He has written a letter commending Emerson Elementary School in Compton, California for allowing the actress to participate in the Read Across America program. He added that he thinks fellow adult film stars Chyna and Allie Haze would be good choices to volunteer for the National Education Association’s initiative.

Hirsch’s letter comes after Grey read to first graders on November 2, 2011, as part of the education program. While TMZ has even posted pictures of Grey reading to the students, a representative for the school is denying she was ever there, after parents expressed their anger to the PTA over her appearance.

Grey stopped appearing in pornography films in 2009, and moved to more mainstream productions, including ‘Entourage’ and the upcoming thriller ‘I Melt With You.’ She tweeted about her experience reading to the children, saying they’re the “sweetest” ever. After parents complained, the PTA contacted the school’s principal.

The district’s rep also told TMZ that Emerson Elementary does welcome several celebrities every year to read to the students. However, “the actress you have indicated was present,” the rep added.
