Pauly Shore has confirmed that he plans to make a sequel for the 1994 comedy ‘In the Army Now,’ TMZ is reporting. The two actors discussed the idea of making a follow-up on Dick’s internet show on Tuesday. He said, “I’ve always said we should do ‘In the Army Again’…We should rescue Katy Perry from a USO show gone bad or something.”
Shore added that his co-star “has wanted to do it for awhile…if they put up the money and the studio lets us do it…I’m down to make it happen!” Shore also said while he hasn’t read it yet, there is a treatment, including a detailed summary of the story, that’s being circulated around Hollywood. Digital media entrepreneur Alki David from FilmOn.tv has said he plans on funding the sequel.
‘In the Army Now’ grossed more than $28 million at the box office, making it Shore’s third highest grossing film. However, despite its cult following, the movie carries a 0% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
