How I Met Your Mother’s Cobie Smulders, who fans know best as Robin, married over this past weekend. Smulders tied the knot with her fiance Taran Killam of Saturday Night Live fame. The two were engaged for three years before making it official. The wedding took place at the Alisal Guest Ranch and Resort in Solvang, California, according to People Magazine. For her big day the actress was said to have worn a white gown with velvet and lace, a plunging backline with details of gold embroidery.
The Saturday afternoon event included a brief 15-minute ceremony with 300 guests all watching as the two said “I do”. Both Smulders’ co-stars, Neil Patrick Harris and Alyson Hannigan, attended the wedding. After the ceremony the couple’s family and friends traveled by hayride to the reception that was held near a spring-fed lake. Killam and Smulders officially announced their engagement back in January 2009. The newly married stars share a daughter together, a three-year-old Shaelyn who was part of the wedding ceremony. The new husband and wife can both be seen this fall with Cobie Smulders set to return once again in a whole new season of How I Met Your Mother on September 24th while Taran Killam can be seen in the 38th season of Saturday Night Live that will kick off on September 15th.
