The 21st Century has done away with A & R representatives and has replaced them with YouTube. While this statement might not become entirely true for a few more years, the music industry has frequently been relying on the video-sharing website to discover the rare talent that is overlooked. Thanks to Justin Bieber’s relentless Internet persistency, the music world has been infected with Bieber fever. Luckily, the high temperatures have subsided due to the latest YouTube breakout artist, Walk Off The Earth. The Burlington, Ontario based band’s cover of Gotye’s “Somebody That I Used To Know” has gone viral with over 40 million views on YouTube. The quintet, which consists…

We haven’t heard a lot about the reboot of the “Superman” franchise, “Man of Steel.” But, we do have some new news about the film from Collider.com. According to Collider, Richard Schiff has been tapped to play Dr. Hamilton in the film. According to the site, Dr. Hamilton is being described as Superman’s “scientific advisor,” a person who builds the machines Superman uses to fight crime. He’s almost like Superman’s Q (“James Bond”‘s Q, not “Star Trek”‘s Q). The character seems like a great addition to the cast, which includes Henry Cavill as Superman, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Kevin Costner and Diane Lane as Pa and Ma Kent, Laurence…

For all her success as an actress, Jodie Foster has had one of the more strangely cursed modern-day careers as a director. She’s made some good movies (“Little Man Tate” remains underrated), but she’s also had countless projects fall apart, including a wonderfully scripted period piece circus tale which Russell Crowe was attached to for quite some time, before a shoulder injury finally scuttled production for good at the last moment. “The Beaver” represents Foster’s latest Waterloo, through no particular fault of her own. A unique and well regarded debut script from writer Kyle Killen made the rounds in Hollywood, and for a while had Steve Carell attached to star. When…

Russell Crowe wants to make James Ellroy’s first original screenplay, ’77,’ his directorial debut, Slashfilm is reporting. While the film was put on hiatus by Paramount 10 years ago, and the David Matthews has been brought in to work on re-writes for the screenplay, Crowe is still interested in bringing Ellroy’s story to the big screen. While no official details about Matthews’ re-writes have been released, when Ellroy was working on ’77,’ the story followed two events from May 1974. One event is the unsolved murder of Los Angeles police officer Mike Edwards. The other event is the televised shootout between the LAPD and the Symbionese Liberation Army. The movie…

Russell Crowe is pushing 20th Century Fox to make a sequel to his 2003 action film ‘Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World,’ Cinemablend.com is reporting. However, the movie, which was based on the 1969 novel of the same name by Patrick O’Brien, opened to only modest results at the box office in November 2003. The Academy Award-winning actor hasn’t given up on making another ‘Master and Commander,’ however. Crowe admires the film so much that he’s telling his fans via his Twitter page to pressure Fox to make the sequel. Crowe starred as Captain Jack Aubrey in ‘Master and Commander,’ which was nominated for 10 Oscars in…

Title: The Next Three Days Directed By: Paul Haggis Starring: Russell Crowe, Elizabeth Banks, Liam Neeson, Olivia Wilde, Jonathan Tucker, Brian Dennehy, Lennie James, RZA, Jason Beghe, Ty Simpkins It’s one thing to walk into a drama and get a little action, but when you opt to check out a thriller that winds up being more of a drama, it’s a bit too difficult to adjust. Making it harder to appreciate a drama with a thrilling twist is a lengthy presentation. There’s a lot that works in The Next Three Days, if only director Paul Haggis had paid more attention to keeping a proper pace, perhaps that drama would have…

Lawson then asked Crowe if he was…
