Paris Hilton has been named as the new celebrity ambassador for the USO’s new initiative, ‘Songs for Soldiers,’ FOXNews.com reported on May 24. The hotel heiress said she decided to sign on because “…there is nothing more worthwhile and patriotic than supporting our troops.”
The new program was designed to give every active duty solider in Iraq and Afghanistan a new MP3 player. Each player will be set with songs donated from artists who have decided to take part in the cause. The MP3 players can also store pictures, videos and documents.
The ‘Songs for Soldiers’ creator, Tom Wiggins, said that he wanted to have Hilton on board because “…she is a trend setter who can lead a young generation of patriots toward new ways to support our Troops.” Hilton also said “…I hope that once we meet this goal I can personally be a part of the trip overseas to deliver these players into the hands of the troops.”
