Carrie Underwood and Mike Fisher had the Ritz-Carlton Lodge, Reynolds Plantation, in Greensboro, Georgia on lock-down for their July 10 evening wedding, Eonline.com is reporting. The country singer and her NHL player fiance had 250 rooms rented at the hotel for their guests following the ceremony and reception.
Fellow country stars Tim McGraw and Faith Hill, ‘American Idol’ judges Simon Cowell, Paula Abdul and Randy Jackson, and Fisher’s fellow Ottawa Senators players Chris Neil and Chris Phillips were among those on the guest list. They attended a rehearsal dinner in Greensboro the night before the ceremony, which was catered by a chef that Underwood flew in.
Security was extremely tight at the hotel, Carey Williams, the editor of Greensboro’s Herald Journal, reported. She added that wedding guests needed an armband at all times just to be on the hotel’s property, in an effort to deter crashers from trying to break into the ceremony. The road leading to the hotel was even closed to non-wedding traffic.
