With Michael Douglas’ new sequel to the Academy Award-winning movie ‘Wall Street’ set for release on September 24, his ex-wife Diandra Douglas brought him to a New York court on August 24, the Associated Press (AP) is reporting. Diandra’s lawyer, Nancy Chemtob, is claiming she is entitled to his proceeds from ‘Wall Street 2: Money Never Sleeps,’ as agreed in their 2000 divorce.

Michael agreed that she is to receive half of his earnings from spin-offs of any work he did while they were married. But his lawyer Marilyn B. Chinitz said the ‘Wall street’ sequel doesn’t apply to the agreement, as he wasn’t in talks to star in it when they ended their 23-year marriage.

So far, Diandra has made $6.3 million form Michael’s projects in the 10 years since their divorce.  “When does it stop?…She’s not Mrs. Michael Douglas anymore,” Chinitz said in court, pointing to the fact that he’s now married to Catherine Zeta-Jones and has two children with her. 

In response, Chemtob said the opposite is true, and she is just looking for the money that was promised her when Michael signed the agreement. However, State Supreme Court Justice Matthew F. Cooper, who was presiding over the hearing, didn’t make an official ruling.
