Britney Spears is engaged for the third time, as her boyfriend and former manager, Jason Trawick, has proposed, ABC News is reporting. Trawick, who has been dating the ‘Criminal’ singer for more than a year, confirmed the news on ‘Access Hollywood.’ He added that he asked Spears to marry him in front of her two sons, Sean Preston, 6, and Jayden James, 5, while they were celebrating his 40th birthday. He presented her with a ring featuring a 3-carat round stone and pave diamonds on the band.

The 30-year-old singer had reportedly been expected the engagement, as marriage was something the two had wanted for a long time. Spears tweeted the news after the proposal, saying “Jason surprised me with the one gift I’ve been waiting for. Can’t wait to show you! SO SO SO excited!!!” The news comes after the couple recently moved into a 10,000 square-foot estate outside Los Angeles.

The marriage will be Spears’ third, as she married childhood friend Jason Alexander in 2004, before being granted an annulment 55 hours after the ceremony. Later that year, she also married Kevin Federline, with whom she had her two sons. The two later divorced in 2006. The singer met Trawick the same year while he was an agent at William Morris Endeavor Entertainment, when he began representing her.
