Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are engaged after seven years of dating and six children together, USA Today is reporting. The Academy Award-nominated actor’s rep, Cynthia Pett-Dante, confirmed the news in a statement, saying “Yes, it’s confirmed. It is a promise for the future, and their kids are very happy. There’s no date set at this time.”
Beverly Hills jeweler Robert Procop also confirmed that he helped Pitt design a custom diamond engagement ring for Jolie. The Oscar-winning actress sported a massive diamond ring on Wednesday as she visited the Los Angeles County Museum of Art with Pitt. Procop released a statement, saying Pitt oversaw every aspect of the creative design process, and made sure the diamonds were specially cut for Jolie’s finger.
The news of the engagement comes after Jolie appeared on ‘Nightline’ in December, and said their children were asking y they weren’t married. She said that “You don’t have to be married to be committed to a partner or your family. We’ve explained to them that our commitment, when we decided to start a family, was the greatest commitment you could possibly have.”
Pitt also told CBS News that Jolie and he were getting a lot of pressure from their children. “It means a lot to them,” he said. “We will (get married) someday,” he added.
