The new official trailer for the upcoming horror comedy sequel, ‘Hatchet III,’ has been released by Dark Sky Films. The movie is set to be theatrically released on June 14 at New York City’s Cinema Village and in Los Angeles at Laemmle Music Hall. The BJ McDonnell-directed film will also be released on the same day in theaters in Denver and Columbus, and on VOD and digital download. The first promotional item for Spike Lee’s remake of Chan-wook Park’s “Oldboy” has hit CinemaCon. The 2003 original focused on Oh Dae-su, a man who’s kidnapped and held in a hotel room-like prison for years until he’s suddenly released with no explanation at all. The Spike Lee rendition sticks with the original storyline, but swaps in Josh Brolin’s advertising executive for Oh Dae-su, and this new poster appropriately represents the 20 years he’s held in the prison, with each red etching representing a year. The 2013 “Oldboy” cast also includes Samuel L. Jackson, Elizabeth Olsen, and Sharlto Copley, and is due in theaters on October 11th, 2013. By Perri Nemiroff

We’re kicking things off with a little James Wan. The sequel to his 2011 haunted house hit, “Insidious,” isn’t due out until September 13, 2013, but the film’s very first teaser poster is already peppering the halls of Caesars Palace. The official first stills from the upcoming horror mystery thriller ‘Virginia Obscura’ have been reveled by its writer-director, Toby Osborne, and producers, Day of the Muerto. The film, which recently wrapped principal photography, is currently in post-production. ‘Virginia Obscura’ features such feature horror stars as Matt Mitler, Thomas Kovacs, Linnea Quigley, Jessica Cameron and Christopher Marrone, as well as new actors Jennie Brown and Ed Conrade. The movie, which was shot on location in new York, Los Angeles and Atlanta, is primarily set on a 100-year old farmhouse in Ontario, Canada, during the middle of winter. The apocalypse is coming to theaters and VOD on June 7 with the new horror comedy, ‘Rapture-Palooza.’ But audiences can experience the catastrophe from director Paul Middleditch’s film now with the project’s newly released first image. The release of “Evil Dead” is finally less than a week away, so the promotional material is pouring in now more so than ever. In addition to the social media countdown, new TV spots, and WonderCon appearance, there’s also a brand new poster floating around and it’s even more Shockya.com-approved than most. I think there are a lot of reasons as to why this particular scene that we’ve got for you below is the most talked about scene from this week’s “The Walking Dead” episode, “Sorrowful Life.” First of all, we have a “Dawn of the Dead” zombie cameo, then we have a crazy shootout between The Governor’s men and Merle (Michael Rooker) (while the men are fighting the zombies Merle led to them) and then a bare-knuckles fight between Merle and The Governor (David Morrissey) himself. The upcoming horror comedy, ‘Eddie: The Sleepwalking Cannibal,’ is set to be released into theaters and VOD on April 5 by Doppelganger Releasing. The new fantasy horror mystery ‘Thale,’ which was directed by Aleksander Nordaas, was released on VOD today by XLrator Media. The film, which will hit theaters on Apirl 5, stars Morten Andresen, Erlend Nervold, Jon Sigve Skard and Silje Reinamo in the title role.
