Matthew Perry will check himself into rehab again soon as a proactive measure to focus on his sobriety, The Daily Mail is reporting. Perry has previously battled addictions to painkillers and alcohol, particularly during his time on his hit sitcom ‘Friends.’ While he said he will take a month off of work from his new ABC comedy series, ‘Mr. Sunshine,’ to go to rehab, he added he hasn’t suffered a relapse. His reps have yet to identify which rehab facility he’ll check into.
Perry has previously been in rehab twice before. His first stint was in 1997 when he went to the Hazelden Foundation center to receive treatment for his Vicodin abuse. He became addicted to the drug after a jet skiing accident.
Perry entered rehab a second time in 2001, after he was hospitalized the year before for pancreatitis, due to excessive alcohol consumption. He told Us Magazine the year before that the stint was due to “hard living and drinking hard and eating poorly.”
