As you’ve probably heard, comedian and “30 Rock” star Tracy Morgan went on a tirade last week at his comedy show in Nashville. Fellow “30 Rock” co-stars Alec Baldwin, Cheyenne Jackson, and Tina Fey (who is also Morgan’s boss), along with NBC’s entertainment chief Robert Greenblatt have given their opinions on the subject, and Morgan has also given an apology, but now the chance to air their concerns about the rant goes to the stars that attended the June 12 Tony Awards.
CNN’s Marquee Blog took to the Tonys red carpet to get the stars reactions. Anika Noni Rose said to CNN that she didn’t see any context in which Morgan’s comments could be seen as funny. “What do you say about that besides stupid?” she said. “What do you say to that? That’s not funny alone in the house behind the door…I think the judgement has been passed,” she said. “I haven’t heard one person who was like, ‘yeah!’”
“I think people need to be cautious about they say, even if it’s…your act,” Patina Miller said. “People listen to that, and I think it’s just the wrong thing to say, even if you don’t believe it, you’re putting it out there, and to put something negative and so awful like that out there, it’s just not good.”
You can listen to what other people on the red carpet said below. What do you have to say about Morgan’s comments?
