Law enforcement is increasing security for tonight’s Academy Awards ceremony at the Dolby theater in Hollywood, in the wake of the increased mass shootings across America in recent months, TMZ is reporting. The LAPD insists it’s always vigilant at the Oscar ceremony, and security is strict every year. But the security system was reportedly increased after the recent wave of gun violence across the U.S.
The LAPD has reportedly hired a private security company, Security Industry Specialists (SIS), to work at the Oscar ceremony tonight. SIS officers have been given an information packet of stalkers who have been known to harass celebrities who are attending the award show. The packet for each suspect includes a picture of the stalker, which are distributed to security in the field.
