ABC Considering Incredible Hulk TV Series

The Hulk

I’ve mentioned in another post about my love for Mark Ruffalo as the Incredible Hulk, but I’ll reiterate–I really love Ruffalo as the Hulk (and as himself). After feeling “meh” about the other two “Hulk” films (with more of the “meh” going toward the first “Hulk” film), I finally feel energized about a character that has a really great story. With that being said, I remain optimistically hesitant about a “Hulk” TV show. That probably doesn’t make any sense, but you’ll see what I mean when I explain more about this bit of news. According to Superhero Hype, ABC Entertainment President Paul Lee stated during a conference call with the  [ Read More ]

Once Upon A Time, Episode 22–A Land Without Magic

onceuponatimealandwithoutmagic

Well, the season finale has come and gone, and I’m left with more questions than answers! Is this what it felt like to be at the end of the various seasons of “Lost” and not know what was going on? The Fairy Tale Land plot is a little bit secondary to the Storybrooke plot, but some major things do happen–Prince Charming is helped out of the Evil Queen’s castle by our friend, the Huntsman! It’s good to see him again, but it’s only very briefly. We later find Prince Charming trapped in the Infinite Forest by the Evil Queen, but is once again helped, this time by Rumpelstiltskin. Rumple creates  [ Read More ]

End of the TV Season: Look Who's Coming Back

Last week was furiously busy with announcements from networks about what shows they would and wouldn’t be bringing back, along with some new pilots ordered for the fall. There were even false reports surfacing, one which foretold the demise of Parks & Recreation, later contradicted by its renewal for a full twenty-episode season, with no end in sight. Among the chaos, there are some intriguing – and unfortunate – takeways. Most Lamentable Cancellations Alcatraz This science fiction series had an excellent pilot that saw inmates confined in Alcatraz in the 1960s reappearing and replaying their crime sprees in the present day. A slight lag midway through its season was corrected  [ Read More ]

Joel Murray God Bless America

Joel Murray has been in show business for more than two decades, but he’s blessed/cursed with an Everyman countenance that often makes people mistake him for their dad’s dentist or accountant, or that across-the-street neighbor from your first house. In Bobcat Goldthwait’s social satire “God Bless America,” his first lead role, Murray plays Frank, an overwhelmed and irritated middle-aged office drone who, having been diagnosed with a terminal brain tumor, finally cuts loose, starts speaking his mind, and much more. After he meets up with Roxy (Tara Lynne Barr), a teenage girl more demented than him, the pair goes on a killing spree, taking out myriad targets representative of America’s  [ Read More ]

On Sunday night, May 13th, after 180 episodes, ABC’s primetime soap opera comes to an end. I’m one of those few that stuck with it all the way through after a decline in quality after its freshman season. Eight years means lots of plotlines, some good, some bad, and some really, really bad. In honor of the show’s impending signoff, here’s a look back at the best and worst plotlines featured on the show over the years. Mysteries and infidelity are mostly good, while extra children and crazy people are almost always bad. Disagree? Post a comment with your favorite and least favorite plotlines below. The Best 1. EDIT: I originally wrote this recap as if “An Apple Red As Blood” was the final episode. My bad–I got ahead of myself. This recap has been fixed to reflect the actual placement of the episode in the season. ——————————- The next-to-last episode of the season has come and gone, and what a better way to start the end of the season than by having Henry eat the poisoned apple turnover! That should make Emma believe, right? So, we got to that point through Regina’s own frantic need to get rid of Emma. First, we need to talk about Fairy Tale Land. Regina, the Evil Queen, is intent on getting  [ Read More ]

Rihanna has never been far from the limelight, but she’s thoroughly back in it not only because of her upcoming theatrical debut, but also because she’s got some new music she’ll perform on “Saturday Night Live”! Rihanna is scheduled to grace the Saturday Night Live stage with her presence tonight! During her time on the show, the “Battleship” action star will perform her newest singles, called “Where Have You Been” and “Talk That Talk.” It would be extra fun if she could be able to be in some of the skits–rarely, musical guests have been featured in some of the skits, so who knows. Glee’s Amber Riley, who plays Mercedes Jones on the show, fainted while walking the red carpet this past Tuesday night. Riley was making her way into the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences located in North Hollywood, giving interviews and posing for photos before she was to take part in a panel discussion in front of Emmy voters. Since the scary episode, Riley has since tweeted an update of her status to fans, reassuring them that she is doing well. “Hey guys, I’m okay :) I got a little dizzy from all the photog flashes! You’d think I’s be used to it by now, still a red carpet amateur I  [ Read More ]
